#Openvpn windows7 windows
I checked the startup folder for windows 7.Ĭ:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup - not thereĬ:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup - nope empty. So I go looking to find where this is loading at. Even though I have selected for it to not auto start, it is running on start up. I reboot again and check the task manager before trying to run it manually and the process is there but no tray icon. I end the task and try running again and it runs fine after that. If I go to task manager I will see the openvpn-gui process running.

When you try to execute the GUI, a dos window will flash after the warning window and nothing happens, no tray icon. When I reboot the GUI does not show in the icon tray, which is what I expected.

After the installation, the GUI runs and all is good. I get the warning when running the GUI, but that is fine. I setup a shortcut on the desktop and configured it to run as administrator. I installed the client as administrator and during installation I unchecked the Auto start check box because I know I need to run it with administrator and it doesn't do that if it is set to auto start.

This client was created from the distribute client button in Untangle.
